What To Do?

Our cabin is conveniently located - just 10 minutes from Jefferson, 40 minutes from Boone and Blowing Rock, 20 minutes from Grayson Highlands National Recreation Area - and is sure to meet your mountain vacation needs.

 Stay in late November or early December to "Cut and Choose" a beautiful family Christmas tree at one of the many local tree farms. Makes for a great tradition and family or friends weekend. Many farms grow the Fraser Fir - prized as a Christmas tree because of their aroma, shape, dark green color, and strong branches. http://www.ashecountrychristmastrees.com/

 Our cabin is a lovely 20 minute drive to Grayson Highlands National Recreation Area. Hike the Appalachian Trail or arrange for horseback riding through the park. www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/gra.shtml http://gorp.com/gorp/activity/byway/va_bluer.htm

Path Surface: Cinder and ballast stone. http://www.dcr.state.va.us/parks/newriver.htm
